1. Open regedit
2. Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT –> Installer and select Products
3. Use the Find menu to find quicktime inside that part of the key
4. Delete the part of the tree that you find
5. You should now be able to install Quicktime and iTunes without incident
