Yeah, so it seems pretty clear that Mel’s Dad is an utter freak. It’s not quite as clear that Mel is quite as totally freaky, but he does reject Vatican II according to what I’ve read, which seems to be an anti-semitic position to me. As for whether “Passion” itself is anti-semitic, opinions don’t seem to be consistent and I haven’t seen it myself. All the reviews I’ve read say it definitely commits the lesser sin of being not a very good movie, though.
