24 feb 2003: this is wrong.
I just found out that “Eon” is Korean for “vulgar.” And Peter “Aeon Flux” Chung comes from Korea. So, “Vulgar state of change?” Well, Trevor is the clean and tidy one. Interesting.

The word you’re referring to (spelled “Eon” on that webpage) doesn’t sound like the “eon” in “Aeon”. :(
It’s pronounced “Un” with “U” not sounding like the “u” in “fun”, but more like the invisible vowel sound you get between “g” and “r” in “great”.
I wonder who came up with the idea of spelling it “eon”… grrr

Thanks…you know, I felt a twinge of suspicion yesterday, when I learned that “Eun-Hi” is pronounced “In-He.” (In the same day, I also found out that I say “corridor” and “Iranian” wrong, too.)

Actually, the “Eun” in “Eun-hi” and the “Eon” the webpage refers to are identical (in sound)…. I wonder if the latest movement to standardize the romanization of the Korean alphabet does a better job of handling all this… -.-;;
